Prior to a hearing in Wimberley concerning a Kinder Morgan pipeline earlier this week, Texas environmental leader Louis Moncivias Gutierrez took to Facebook to tell followers how he planned to “[scout] out” Kinder Morgan employees:

“Well later on tonight at about 5pm central time, maybe 5:30, that’s when I’m going to be in Wimberley, Texas – obviously I’m going to go early because I like scouting out those Kinder Morgan boys: I like to see what they drive, I like to see where they stay, I like to give them a little elbow or finger in the eye. That’s just my way. It’s because I was born here in Texas – and I’ve got nothing better to do.”

Gutierrez also said that he planned to “take this to the front porch” of the houses of Kinder Morgan employees:

“We want to let them know that we’re going to take this to the front porch of their house because they can’t just be part of Kinder Morgan and have that protection. As you know, we’ve been hitting front porches of people who we see responsible. And if you’re responsible, chances are – get a good look at us, you’re going to see us.”

Gutierrez’s activism has been chronicled by the Austin American-Statesman, The Fort Worth Star-Telegram and KVUE. He previously espoused extreme tactics, vowed to violate laws, admitted to being part of a criminal smuggling network across the U.S.-Mexico border, and praised the attempted bombings of prominent political figures in October 2018.
