Texas environmentalist Juan Mancias is asking his followers to give him money to fix his truck so he can oppose LNG export terminals in Texas. Mancias started a online fundraising page asking fellow environmentalist to give him money to fix his 16-miles-per-gallon 2007 Nissan Frontier 4WD so he can drive around Texas to set up protest camps:
“The truck is needed to make us more mobile in the Rio Grande Valley to do monitoring, observations and documenting the wall and LNGs. We also use the truck to move between villages and bring water and supplies into more remote areas. Thank You!”
Mancias and his followers are protesting four proposed LNG export terminals along Texas’s Gulf Coast recently approved for construction by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. The projects are expected to create an economic windfall for the region and boost the United States to become one of the world’s largest exporters of natural gas.
