At a recent meeting of environmentalists, Mark Glover, a Big Bend Defense Coalition organizer and owner of a now-closed anti-pipeline protest camp in West Texas, stated his support for more environmentalists to get arrested to draw attention to themselves:

“I think more people need to start thinking about getting arrested and doing something and develop the energy that’s necessary and bring it – you know, when we ran Two Rivers Camp, we had fifteen arrests but we were in The Guardian, we were in the HuffPost, we were in Democracy Now, and it brings attention.”

Glover previously has questioned the integrity of Texas because of oil and gas development and has defended a convicted sex offender who helped him run his West Texas protest camp.
