The environmentalist documentary “Trans Pecos” is touting an interesting endorsement to promote their film. Earlier today, a letter of endorsement from a prisoner in Amarillo expressing interest in their misleading documentary was posted to their Facebook page:

“A letter from prison cell #2001406 in Amarillo,TX. ‘I was raised on cattle ranches all over from Pecos to Van Horn to Balmorhea.. I would love to see your film when i get out.. I don’t have internet so i was wondering if you had any printed material on the documentary.’ That we do far away friend. Its on its way. Such perspective receiving this. Thank you Mason.”

The prisoner, Mason Mires, is currently serving an 8-year sentence for aggravated robbery and has a long history of previous run-ins with the law. KRBC News reported the details of the robbery that led to Mires imprisonment:

“Two men entered Burtch Watson’s Saddle Lakes Drive home at 3 a.m. and, once inside, woke Watson by shooting a gun in the air and then pointed it at him. Watson was attacked, tied up and a hood placed over his head before cash, guns and other valuables were taken. An investigation revealed that the robbery may have been orchestrated by Watson’s stepson who was arrested Tuesday. Mason Mires was taken into custody Tuesday and charged with robbery.”

The Texas Environmentalist Left’s embrace of Mires’ interest should come as no surprise, as they have endorsed criminal activity and repeatedly supported and promoted individuals with long criminal histories. Protests of the Trans Pecos Pipeline – the subject of the documentary that intrigued Mires – ended shortly after it was discovered that one of the protest camp leaders was a convicted felon and registered sex offender wanted in California for a parole violation from a history of violent crimes.
